An appreciation post for the Music of End of Dragons.
So starting off, I literally have 0 musical knowledge, but for about 12 hours a day while I'm doing work or just random gaming, I still listen to a lot of RPG/Fantasy Soundtracks (Elder Scrolls, Warcraft, GW etc) and just wanted to dump my opinions somewhere lol
I just really wanted to say how much End of Dragons blew me away in terms of the soundtrack design. They're just so amazing. I'd like to just say some stuff about my top 5 favourite tracks.
The Cycle Ends - Lena Raine - Lena does it again, she manages to make such a stunning soundtrack which gets my heart pounding every single time. When I heard this just after Kralk and Mordremoth's theme, it just is perfect, I really don't know what else to say, it's just so exhilarating, especially when you're running Dragon's End for the 11th time and actually manage to get the boss down.
A Spirit's Final Wish - Maclaine Diemer - I can't specifically remember where this exact track plays in the End of Dragon's story, but it really is an amazing track. It feels so sad, but still fits in so nicely with Eastern Asian sounds and visuals.
Winds of Change - Michael Choi - Just a fun playful track which is super pleasant to listen to in the overworld. It really is just an amazing, especially when you hit the 0:40 mark and it just becomes so smooth and really helps me gain a sense of adventure when trekking through Cantha.
End of Dragons - Maclaine Diemer - Of course the main theme is going to be one of my favourites, and I think Maclaine did an amazing job on it. It genuinely does feel like an amazing theme, especially around 1:10, when I first heard this track in the preview stream, it made my eyes widen and more importantly excited, I couldn't wait for the 28th to roll round just so I could log on and start playing.
A New Era of Heroes - Andi Roselund - I really love the mix of kind of Eastern Asian traditional instruments and the Synths, it really encapsulates an Ancient Land Mixed parallel with new technologies.
Some Honourable mentions:
Shadows of Seitung - Sojin Ryu - What a peaceful track, very calming, very pleasing to listen to.
Mortals Are Little Flames - Maclaine Diemer - A line from the original announcement trailer which really stuck with me, and I feel like this track perfectly shows Soo-Won's personality, Old, Ancient, Wise and Kind.
